{Dr. Habyalimana Jean Baptiste who has been the executive secretary of the National Commission of Unity and Reconciliation (NURC) has presented credentials to President Sassou Nguesso as Rwanda’s ambassador to Congo Brazzaville.}
Habyarimana was been appointed ambassador by the cabinet meeting of 5th August, 2015 when the Rwandan embassy in Congo Brazzaville had just been established. He is the first diplomat to represent Rwanda in this country.
Appointing a Rwanda diplomat to Congo Brazzaville is a show of a good relationship heads of the two countries have been building over the years. At the end of 2015 Denis Sassou Nguesso visited Rwanda and held talks with President Paul Kagame whence they discussed cooperation between the two countries.
These two countries have signed cooperation agreements to improve the welfare of both countries.
Dr. Jean Baptiste Habyalimana was been the executive secretary of NURC since 2009 up to 2016.
