IGIHE has learnt that robbers gored the eyes of the guard before killing him.
The murder and robbery have been confirmed by police spokesperson in Northern Province, IP Gasasira Innocent.
“It is true, thieves robbed the Sacco of Barega, killed one guard and severely wounded his colleague,” he has told IGIHE.
He said the amount involved has not yet been established but investigations are underway to catch thieves.
The body of the killed guard has been taken to Rutongo hospital.
