Governor Bosenibamwe asked the youth to resist genocide denials

The Northern Province governor Aimée Bosenibamwe has requested the youth to keep the momentum of resisting genocide ideology which is dangerous to the efforts of unity, reconciliation and healing.

The governor gave the advice yesterday in a night vigil to remember held at Tumba College of Technology, Rulindo district, where he said a CNLG survey recently indicated that 15% of Rwandans still have genocide ideology and collaborate with foreigners who trivialize genocide perpetrated against Tutsi.

“About 15% of Rwandans have not yet understood Ndi Umunyarwanda program and partner with foreigners undermining genocide. Such genocide ideology cases include people nicknaming others with derogatory names,” he said.

“We have information that city dwellers use the term MTN to mean Tutsi and use Tigo to mean Hutu. There are other names that may emerge tomorrow or after tomorrow. We have to know that our name is Ndi Umunyarwanda,” advised Bosenibamwe.
Bosenibamwe encouraged the youth to use social media to tell the truth and do research aimed at neutralizing deniers of genocide.

“It requires to stay awake. We must stand together to tell the truth about the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, using all available platforms including social media. Don’t think you will live in a secured country as it is today if people with genocide ideology dominate us,” he said.
