Gisagara thugs exhume corpse in anticipation of gems buried with the dead

{A gang of unidentified people have exhumed a dead body of Nshimiyimana Gilbert, a victim of recent Kicukiro accident who after the accident was taken to be buried in Kigembe sector, Gisagara district of Southern Province.}

It is said that the gang exhumed the body in the night of June 11th, 2016.

The executive secretary of Kigembe sector, Bigirimana Augustin, has told IGIHE that the cause of digging the grave of the dead remains unknown but it is suspected they thought he had been buried with some gems.

“Perhaps exhumers of the dead body thought the accident victim was buried with precious items.It was the first time a dead body was buried in a precious coffin in the area. The coffin was decorated with bright ornaments giving an impression of Gold and was cemented in Kigembe cemetery. Exhuming the body is extreme cruelty hard to explain,” he said.

Bigirimana said that the accident victim, Nshimiyimana has been buried again.

“After being informed about the exhumation, the deceased was again accorded decent burial amidst deepened grief among relatives,” he said.

Bigirimana requested Kigembe residents to collaborate with security personnel providing information leading to the arrest of people involved in the odious act of breaking the tomb.
