Gicumbi SACCO security guard injures colleague, kills self

{A security guard at Umwalimu SACCO from Byumba sector of Gicumbi district has shot his fellow security guard after which he shot himself dead. }

The mayor of Gicumbi district, Mvuyekure Alexandre, has told IGIHE that Nkundukozera Pascal first shot his colleague and later committed suicide. His colleague that he shot, Gahunde Emmanuel, has been taken to Byumba hospital where he is getting treatment.

“The incident happened yesterday at 3:40 pm. Both Mvuyekure and Gahunde were security guards Byumba Umwalimu SACCO branch. Mvuyekure shot Nkundukozera in the belly as he was parking a motorcycle on which he was traveling. Thereafter he shot dead himself,” he said.

Nkundukozera’s body has been taken Byumba morgue of Byumba. Investigations to establish the motive of murder and suicide have started.
