Kayitesi Betty and Habumugisha Isidore have died while 10 others have been wounded in a head-on collision of Coaster carrying passengers and Daihatsu pick up in Rwandafandi, Mutete sector, Gicumbi district at around 8:30 pm yesterday.
The spokesperson of traffic police, Supt Jean Marie Vianney Ndushabandi told IGIHE that the accident may have been caused by high speed. Also, there are no lights along the junction at which the accident occurred.
“Two people died during the incident, one died immediately while the other died at Byumba hospital. Ten people have been wounded,” he said.
Ndushabandi has appealed on drivers to respect traffic rules and be careful at junctions.
