The German Embassy has provided the National Museum of Rwanda with some historical vestiges that marked Germany and Rwanda during the colonial era.
Some historical vestiges that were handed over include vehicle wheel weighing 250 kg.
The wheel marks the remains of German vehicles that were used during the First World War on the front line where the Germans and Rwandans fought against the Belgians in 1914.
In that time, Rwandans fought alongside the Germans who had the territory of Ruanda-Urundi.
These remains were handed over to the National Museum of Rwanda called “Dr. Richard Kandt Museum” located in Kigali.
Besides the wheel, photos were also presented at the Museum showing Rwandans who were on the front during the World War. All these remains were carefully kept in Deutche Welle, Kinyinya Station in Gasabo District.
