Fr. Kalinijabo Finally Married

{{Although his resignation from the Roman Catholic Church has not been denied nor granted by Vatican, Rwanda’s catholic Priest, Fr. Lambert Kalinijabo has legally married his wife Aimée Ntakirutimana.}}

On Friday April 26, the couple entered a legally binding civil marriage at Byimana Sector in Ruhango district.

This morning, Ntakirutimana introduced her husband to her parents at a function that attracted hundreds of cheering friends and relatives.

IGIHE managed to access the venue where the introduction ceremony was being conducted at Kagugu, Gisozi sector in Gasabo district.

The church wedding ceremony has been held at the anglican church in Remera, Giporoso I.

Fr. kalinijabo wrote and submitted a resignation letter to the Catholic Church authorities.

However, subject to rules and regulations of the Church, Kalinijabo’s resignation can only be granted or denied by the Pope Francis at Vatican.

The Pope has not yet responded to Fr. Kalinijabo’s resignation. Which therefore requires that he waits until there is a responce from the Vatican.

Such decision can not be taken at local (Rwanda-provincial level) but Fr. Kalinijabo who should have waited for a responce from Vatican, decided to go ahead and marry his fiancee Ntakirutimana.

According to the Roman Catholic Church rules, Fr. kalinijabo’s decision to marry contravenes the Church rules that govern the priests meant to remain celibate forlife.

Fr. kalinijabo’s contravention would attract Excommunication from the Roman Catholic Church.
