The Government of Rwanda has said land distribution among residents relocated from Gishwati Natural forest will be completed in 4 months starting today.
The decision was reached during yesterday’s meeting hosted by Rwanda’s Prime Minister Dr Pierre Damien Habumuremyi with line Ministries and institutions.
The meeting was discussing Gishwati land redistribution process.
During the meeting a National committee was set up to handle the process of distributing land among residents who were relocated in Gishwati as well as giving them place for livestock farming and cultivation.
The committee that was set up is led by Lt. Gen. Fred Ibingira , Assistant Commissioner of Police Mugisha Joseph, Pothin Muvara of Rwanda Natural Resources Authority, William Ngabonziza of MINALOC, Nzeyimana Innocent of MINAGRI and Kagabo Nsengiyumva from the Ministry of Natural resources.
