Five ambassadors present credentials to President Kagame

{President Paul Kagame has received credentials from five ambassadors to represent their countries to Rwanda.}

They all promised to improve bilateral relations.

Ambassador Farid Boulahbel from Algeria who will be based in Kampala, Uganda, has been the first to present credentials to the President of the Republic.

He has said in a press briefing that the visit president Paul Kagame held in Algeria in April, 2016 built foundation for the benefit of both Rwandans and Algerians.

“We are organizing a joint commission to identify areas in both countries which we will prioritize and implement,” he said.

He said that both countries will partner in education and culture sectors. Algeria receives Rwandans that go there for further studies.

Ambassador Joseph Andre Nourrice from Seychelles will be based in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. He said that Seychelles has evolved in tourism sector, an experience to be shared throughout the cooperation. “Rwanda and Seychelles are planning cooperation in different sectors and removing double taxation,” he said.

Ammbassador Kwame Asamoah will represent Ghana in Rwanda with an office in Nairobi , Kenya. He said that his country already has a good cooperation with Rwanda.

“Throughout my tour of duty as ambassador, we will concentrate on economic affairs between the two countries. We have Rwanda Air today connecting Kigali and Accra, flying six times a week which is a good project among other planned programs,” he said.

Ambassador Asamoah noted that free movement is crucial in boosting investment. Ghana has removed VISA requirements for Rwandans.

Keita Diamou from Mali has also presented credentials and will be based in Luzanda Angola. He explained that Mali as a country depending on agriculture has a lot to share with Rwanda.

“We will put emphasis on agriculture, environment and new technology since Rwanda is fast growing in that area. We will learn a lot from it,” he said.

Ambassador Mahajir Ousman Ibrahim from Chad will be based in Kinshasa.

He expressed delightfulness for Rwanda’s progress after 22 years since it was devastated by genocide tragedies. He said that bilateral relations of both countries will focus on trade and international cooperation.
