First Lady hosts Children’s Party, advises on proper upbringing

{A total of about 200 children aged between 7 to 12 years from across the country were hosted at Village Urugwiro by the first lady, Madam Jeannette Kagame, to celebrate the 2015 Christmas season during which she requested them to set new strategies and actionable resolutions in the year 2016. }

The guest children included those that exhibited excellent performance during the ending academic year, disabled children, beneficiaries of Imbuto Foundation, Unity Club members among others.

Children expressed joy as they were treated to various genres of entertainment including dances and poetry that conveyed messages appreciating the role Madam Jeannette Kagame and Imbuto Foundation are playing in the progress of the girl-child as well as boosting their confidence among others.

Madam Kagame revealed that recited poetry convey good messages that are building appreciation of the environment in which the children live, urging parents to show unwavering commitment to proper upbringing and education of their children.

“Uphold attained achievements and strive for more, be good children and induce earn pride to your parents, respect them and your parents, respect teachers, show good manners and you will undoubtedly attain your goals,” she said.

Nayituriki Jehovanice, one of the guest children said that she was well-pleased to meet the first lady who always inspires her.

The children holiday party is held every year with the aim of sharing joy, ending the year and encouraged to plan for the new year.

The children were given gifts including; school materials including notebooks, text books and school bags.
