Different Participants attending the 8th Pan African Festival of Dance on Saturday joined residents of Nyarugunga in community work-Umuganda.
The Community work which was organized by Rwanda Development Board was an opportunity to showcase cultural dances as well as sharing the benefits of the later.
Speaking to media Rwangombwa John, a Cultural troop Representative from DRC said he was happy to participate in “Umuganda” which brought together Rwandans and foreigners.
“We, in the DRC, have an act like this and we call it, ‘Salongo’ Rwangombwa noted.
Murangwa Frank of RDB Department of Tourism and FESPAD Representative noted that local residents were delighted to see foreign people joining them for the monthly community work.
Through their respective traditional music and dances, participating countries will showcase their cultural talents.
FESPAD is consistent with Rwanda’s strategy of showcasing to the world its unique cultural heritage through dance but also to make a platform destination in Kigali international events while promoting African Unity through dance.
This year, RDB has focused on cultural tourism and plans to visit various tourist places.
