Family Nearly Wipeout at Rukomo Sector

{{A family in Gicumbi district at Rukomo sector was nearly wiped out when the house they were sleeping in collapsed on them killing two parents and their child.}}

The dead have been identified as Biregeya jean Bosco 26 his wife Musabyimana Francine 23 and their child only identified as Cedric. The incident occurred last week.

Neighbours told IGIHE, the family house of the deceased was located at a risky spot saying such a disaster was inevitable.

Area residents said the affected family house build on mud bricks had been gradually soaked by rain water and later collapsed on the sleeping family members.

Neighbours said one of the area residents had gone to visit this family the following evening and found the house wall had collapsed inwards killing the family members.

The visiting neighbor noticed an arm of Biregeya protruding from the rubble and quickly notified area residents who later retrieved the bodies.

However, one of the only surviving children had been away visiting the grandmother when the incident happened.

Sindayigaya Eduard representing Gicumbi district authority told mourners during the burial that the surviving child will be taken care of by providing a cow, health insurence.

Also EPR church to which the deceased’s mother prayed from has pledged to cater for the survivors education upto secondary school level.
