Expropriation: Nduba Sector Residents Angry at Delayed Payments

{{Over sixty residents of Nduba sector in Gasabo district want to be paid for and equivalent of their property subject an expropriation program in their area.}}

The angry residents stormed the Kigali city council offices today demanding audience from the Vice mayor in charge of economic affairs Nsengiyimva Alphonse.

It’s alleged that Nsengiyimva had earlier promised the affected residents that they would receive their money in April, however, until today they have received nothing.

The residents had written to the Police in Gasabo district seeking to protest against the delayed payment on April 3 but Vice Mayor Nizeyimana immediately promised the residents that by April 15 they would receive their expropriation money.

However, when the angry residents walked into the city council offices, they didn’t find Nizeyimana and were later directed to city council official-an expropriation expert who also promised that they would be given their money on Wednesday next week.

Kigali City publicist Rangira Bruno told IGIHE he had no information about the case concerning expropriation of the residents at Nduba sector.
