{The Minister of Local Government has requested Rwandan youth to embrace patriotism and grow with the spirit of making a good use of available opportunities.}
Minister Francis Kaboneka made the call on Sunday as he attended the ceremony of closing the civic education of 864 youth under Intore z’inkomezamihigo’ which started on June 15th 2016 at the University of Rwanda, Huye Campus.
The civic education was organized for the representatives of youth in Northern Province, Eastern Province and Kigali city with the aim of training them to seek solutions to problems affecting them.
Minister Kaboneka told them to exploit opportunities apparent in the country.
“Some people sacrificed themselves for opportunities available in the country.The first initiative of Inkotanyi to make such opportunities possible was the spirit of patriotism,” he said.
“Many Africans lacked your opportunities of having good leadership. Make sure such opportunities are used well and upheld,” he said.
Minister Kaboneka said that some people have bad plans of destroying the country but will fail.
He urged the youth to be keen on their country, remember that the state is the foundation of everything since no project would last long without statehood and asked them to sacrifice for their country where need be.
A total of 864 young men and ladies who completed the civic education pledged various development projects including helping the youth to partner with financial institutions, conducting mobilization against poor hygiene, mobilizing people to pay medical insurance, mobilizing parents to send children to school among others.
