Etihad Airways says no to Rwanda Air – for right now

{Yesterday eTN reported about RwandAir’s CEO, John Mirenge saying that the airline was in discussions about equity participation with Star Alliance Member Ethiopian Airlines. He also threw the name of Etihad Airways into the ring when he singled out the national airline of the UAE as a second discussion partner.}

Today an Etihad Airways spokesperson told eTurboNews Etihad Airways had not expressed an interest in investing in RwandAir and is not in talks to do so.

The spokesperson for the Abu Dhabi based airline explained:” Etihad Airways confirms that it has declined any offer of a potential investment in RwandAir, the national airline of Rwanda.

Etihad Airways is however constantly fostering and developing commercial relationships with airlines around the world, including RwandAir, in order to offer its guests a wider choice of travel options.”
