An inmate in Huye prison, Nakabeza Théophile, 30, has been shot dead at Ngoma court of low instance as he fought the prison guard trying to escape.
The spokesperson of Rwanda Correctional Service, Hilary Sengabo said that the inmate tried to escape after receiving a two-year sentence. He had already spent seven months in prison.
Ngoma court of low instance sentenced him to two years over theft related crimes.
