It is alleged that after teaching job entry exams held on 6th May 2019; Dukuzimana commissioned a person who called all successful candidates soliciting bribes promising to get them approved to their respective posts.
Dukuzimana was caught red handed on 21st May 2019 receiving Rwf 200,000 related to the aforementioned case.
The spokesperson of Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Modeste Mbabazi has said that investigations are underway to seize more suspects involved in the case.
“He was arrested along with the person who brought Rwf 200,000 bribe at home. Investigations are underway,” he said.
IGIHE has learned that more people admitted to jobs after offering bribes to Dukuzimana went into hiding.
Uwimana Faustin and Dukuzimana Hermogene are detained RIB station in Mukamira.
Rwanda penal code stipulates that any person, who solicits, accepts or receives, by any means, an illegal benefit for himself/ herself or another person or accepts a promise in order to render or omit a service under his or her mandate or uses his or her position to render or omit a service commits an offense.
Upon conviction, he/she is liable to imprisonment for a term of more than five (5) years but not more than seven (7) years with a fine of three (3) to five (5) times the value of the illegal benefit solicited received.
The spokesperson of Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB), Modeste Mbabazi has told IGIHE that the suspect has been arrested as investigations get underway.
“He is accused of misallocating Sacco funds and making false reports to conceal misappropriated funds,” he said.
Nzitondwa arrest comes few days after the accountant of KOISARU, Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO) in Rugerero sector, Espérance Mukashyaka was arrested at the beginning of May 2019 on accusations of conspiring with her subordinates in misappropriation of Rwf192 million.

Carrilho reiterated that Police should prevent any conflicts that may occur due to religious, political, economic, ethnic or geographical reasons and react when such heinous acts happen.
“Being a police officer is to serve the community. As United Nations police including Rwandan Police officers, we must prevent conflicts with early warning mechanisms. We must build sustainable peace worldwide, I hope that together as Police and our respective communities we can have a safe world,” he emphasized.
“Let us strive together to promote a peaceful, safer and better world to live in. I believe we can all have faith in the future and peace for all.”
The top blue berets are in Rwanda for a three-day intermission retreat to address challenges faced in missions and promote UN best practices related to the protection of civilians, gender advocacy and quality training, among others.

The prosecutor asked for remand of Sankara on account of 16 alleged crimes.
He was escorted by his defense lawyer Moise Nkundabarashi.
These include forming a rebel group, terrorism, murder, kidnap, genocide denial, arson, armed robbery, using forged documents, causing bodily harm intentionally, inciting hatred against the Government of Rwanda, developing foreign relations to launch a war among others.
The prosecution also alleged that FNL he was representing as spokesperson carried attacks in Southern Province killing nine and injuring 19 people.
The suspect pleaded guilty to all the charges
On attacks in Nyaruguru district carried by FNL, the terror group he was involved with and holding the title of spokesperson, Sankara accepted to have ordered attacks on public installations and security organs but claimed that he never ordered attacks on civilians.
Sankara regretted his involvement in the group that killed civilians.
“I apologize before the court and to all people affected by the attacks. May deceased people rest in peace. I also extend my apologies to Rwandans and the President of the Republic,” he said.
Sankara pleaded guilty on all charges and apologized to Rwanda and the President of the Republic for killings committed by the rebel group they had formed.
“I would like to acknowledge all committed crimes and apologize. Because as an intellectual in the field of law I am aware of the benefits and consequences of complicating and facilitating the judicial process. I am not ready to defend unfounded truths. There are crimes committed publically that even birds in trees can testify to. Thank you,” said Sankara.
His defense lawyer, Nkundabarashi Moise said his client made statements on alleged crimes and asked for his release on bail.
During the hearing, the prosecution asked that the accused be remanded considering a number of reasons including the fact that he would tamper with evidence.
The court pronounced the ruling will be read on 28th May 2019.
Sankara was arrested on 13th April 2019 but Rwanda confirmed his detention on 30th April 2019.
He was paraded before the media for the first time on 17th May 2019 at the headquarters of Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB).
The husband who was severely injured on the leg with a machete was taken to Jarama health center for medical attention.
Mukangenera committed the offense on Wednesday, arrested by residents and handed her over to Rwanda Investigation Bureau in Jarama.
According to the Eastern region Police spokesperson, Chief Inspector of Police (CIP) Hamdun Twizeyimana, the suspect was restrained by residents, who intervened to save the victim, and handed her over to security officers on routine patrol.
“Neighboring residents heard the screams from the home of the couple and quickly responded before calling security which was nearby,” said CIP Twizeyimana.
He condemned the bloody act, adding that such family conflicts also cause serious psychological effects on young children.
The spokesperson said though women and young girls are most at risk of emotional and physical abuse, female partners assaulting men is equally prevalent.
The victim claimed he and the wife had a turbulent marriage but he was always willing to resolve their issues.

A total of 66 investment projects worth USD $$317 million from India between were recorded in Rwanda between 2011 and 2016. These include Airtel, Zinc Hotel and Mahatma Gandhi University.
Indians also invested in Gisovu Tea Factory, Imana Steel, Sahasra Electronic Pvt Ltd among others. The national carrier, RwandAir, operates four flights weekly to Mumbai since 4th April 2017.
Rwanda and India are among the top troop contributors to the United Nations peacekeeping missions.
The Director-General of Ruhengeri Hospital, Dr. Muhire Philbert has told IGIHE that they are conducting an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
“RIB has brought the body. The investigation is underway to establish whether it is the body of Ndahayo,” he said.
Dr. Muhire explained that the body had no wounds except stones found in clothes.
Police spokesperson in Northern Province, CIP Rugigana Alexis has told IGIHE the retrieved body has been taken to Ruhengeri Hospital yet to confirm if it is Ndahayo.

Ndahayo who was the prime suspect has been missing since the wife was found dead on Monday night 20th May 2019 in the family home in Kimonyi Sector, Musanze District, Northern Province.

BBOXX has connected over 80,000 homes with electricity across the country.
BBOXX provides solar panels and easily rechargeable lamps among other accessories including power saving televisions and radios. It targets remote areas with no access to grid electricity.
BBOXX began operations in Rwanda in April 2014. It has established different shops where clean energy solutions are made available.
