{{Mr. Elie Kabagema is a Rwandese/Dutch entrepreneur living in The Netherlands who managed to help the Rwandese and African community living in Holland. He did this by making different products accessible for the African community.}}
In an interview with IGIHE, Mr. Kabagema who began his activities by creating a store known as the “Africa Products Shop The Hague”, the only store in The Hague and The Netherlands which sells many African products; these include food, beverages, clothes, drinks and cosmetics.
African clothes from Boubou, African shoes, art, and even Dutch Wax are available at a good price in Africa Products Shop.
Mr. Kabagema informed us that most of the clients are coming from: Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Cameroon, Togo, Sudan, Kongo. Even Dutch people who have been in Africa or who want to discover the African taste frequently visit the store and are very happy with this initiative.
The store was also set to help the people who often struggle with overloaded luggage from their country of origin in order to supply their families and friends with the home products.
That is not necessary anymore since the products they try to bring in are offered at a good price rate in the Africa Products Shop.
Kabagema also indicated that this store responds to the call of leaders and authorities of our country of origin to be ambassadors of our countries and show our value wherever we are.
Africa Products Shop also plays a social role as a meeting point between different African communities living and visiting the Netherlands.
It is a place where they can seek information, advice, discuss the projects to be implemented in their home countries and share information on various matters concerning their daily life.
As testimony, Igihe met in the store Mr. Godfrey Nimbona from Burundi, Ms. Christine Safari and Mr. Kamali Diope from Rwanda: ‘This store has made our life easier because we don’t have to waist our time trying to get the products we want from home.
The quality of products is good, it is cheaper than trying to import those products by ourselves and we get the opportunity to eat healthy and bio products from our countries”.
It is noteworthy Africa Products Shop also began offering shipping service from the Netherlands to African countries, a service much appreciated by the African community.
Kabagema and his wife Yvonne Uwizeye also informed us about other important services they provide like the money transfer service via Monygram and payment system Ria.
They also help traders and Rwandans to buy various products such as machinery, vehicles where we start by identifying the products, quality, price and shipping facilities.
