Police calls for collaboration of leaders to fight against drugs to save many people’s lives particularly the youth who would endanger their lives over drugs consumption.

The spokesperson of Rwanda National Police, ACP Célestin Twahirwa, called on local leaders and the general population to collaborate with police to fight against drug dealing and abuse.

“Eastern Province is the entrance of drugs especially in Kirehe and Nyagatare districts. We request all levels of leadership and ordinary citizens to join efforts to defeat drug dealing and abuse,” said ACP Célestin Twahirwa.

Most of the culprits confirmed that hemp is often imported from Tanzania, attributing the illicit commerce to poverty which ACP Twahirwa said should not be an excuse for breaking the law.
