Easter Monday confirmed official public holiday in Rwanda

The cabinet meeting that convened on Wednesday on April 27th, 2016 confirmed the presidential order declaring Easter Monday a public holiday, bringing to 15 days declared holidays.

It becomes also the seventh day of public holiday in connection with church beliefs.
Public holidays were accepted as a way of allowing employers and employees to have a special attention celebrating particular days.

Rwanda penal code indicates that when a public holiday takes place over the weekend, employers and employees have to celebrate the day on the next Working day, a platform complying with international practice.
