{{Members of the East african diaspora in the United States have organised a Business Summit aimed at promoting investiment in Africa and connecting US investors to their African counterparts. }}
The Business Summit organised by the East African Chamber of Commerce (EACC ) will be held October 17-19, in Dallas, Texas.
The EACC was established by African diaspora members with roots in East Africa aimed at promoting development activities in the region as well as connecting regional investors to their counterparts in the United States.
Alice Umutoni representing EACC in Washington DC and also deputy representative of the Rwandan community in US told IGIHE that Rwandans shouldn’t miss this opportunity.
Umutoni was recently in Rwanda in preparations ahead of the forthcoming EACC Business Summit to be held in Texas state.
According to Umutoni, the EACC Business Summit has been held six times but has not been attracting Rwandans owing to previous management that hailed from other countries in the region.
She however, says the current management is held by a Rwandan National Frank Kanobana. Thus the forthcoming Business Summit is expected to attract more Rwandans because it has been well promoted among the Rwandans in diaspora and Rwanda.
Umutoni advises that Rwandans should attend the Business Summit saying they would get in touch with US investors willing to invest in agriculture and other sectors and also providing better prices for various products from Rwanda.
The Rwanda Development Board RDB says it will help whoever intends to attend the Business Summit.
