The Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, Liliane Ploumen has said Kamonyi has made significant progress in infrastructure development adding that the later has positively impacted on wellbeing of citizens.
The Minister was yesterday visiting some of the projects supported by Holland in Kamonyi District.
Ploumen also visited; Rugobagoba Dairy, road construction site in Musambira as well as witnessing some of the newly created jobs that were due to electricity connections in the area.
The Mayor of Kamonyi District Rutsinga Jacques thanked the Dutch Minister for significant support adding that the District will make sure that infrastructures are well exploited for sustainable development in Kamonyi.
During her arrival in Rwanda, Minister Ploumen signed an aviation treaty with Rwanda’s Minister of Infrastructure, Albert Nsengiyumva, a deal which will enable Rwanda to use the Dutch airport of Amsterdam for Rwandair operations in Europe, while Holland will also use the Kigali airport to connect with the Great Lakes region.
