Dutch Minister for Development Cooperation Expected in Rwanda

{{The Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Lilianne Ploumen is expected in Rwanda today for a two day visit (January 5-6).}}

Rwanda is one of the fifteen countries worldwide with which the Netherlands has a longstanding and extensive development cooperation program.

The focus of the program is on Justice, Food security and Water resource management.

Minister Ploumen will visit projects related to energy, feeder roads and potatoes to familiarize herself with the successes that Dutch-Rwandan collaboration have brought.

She will furthermore discuss the current status of aid relations between the Netherlands and Rwanda.

Minister Ploumen will have meetings with President Kagame, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning John Rwangombwa, Minister of Justice Tharcisse Karugarama, Minister of Trade and Industry François Kanimba and Minister of Infrastructure Albert Nsengiyumva.

Minister Ploumen will also meet with the Rwandan and Dutch business community, as well as with members of civil society, political opposition parties and human rights organisations.
