DRC: Six MPs suspended for beating colleague

{The National Assembly in DRC has sanctioned six members who had beaten their colleague Valentin Senga during a plenary session of the Lower House. }

The authors of the attacks are facing a suspension of three months and deprivation of their salaries, said the president of the National Assembly, Aubin Minaku who was speaking at the closing of the plenary session on Tuesday November 18th.

This is the first time for elected members pay the price of such a sanction since the beginning of the legislature.

However, continued the President of the National Assembly, any member punished, who is aggrieved by this decision may appeal in writing to the office.
