{Rwanda’s Former Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Agnes Kalibata, currentl Vice Rector of the University of Rwanda in charge of Development has been named an Interim President of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) on 8th Sept, 2014.}
She takes over from the Kenyan Jane Karuku who has just resigned from the leadership of AGRA.
AGRA expresses its appreciation to Kalilibata for the changes she brought among small agricultural farmers in his country Rwanda.
AGRA has direct presence in 17 African countries.
AGRA services range from expanding smallholder access to markets to increase incomes and food security, working with partners to advocate for smallholder-friendly agricultural policies and building the next generation of African agricultural scientists, among other services.
