Double tragedy as Rutsiro murder suspect commits suicide

A man suspected of murdering his wife has committed suicide in the prison precincts. Ntahorwagiye, resident of Remera cell, Musebeya sector in Rutsiro district was arrested 27th December, 2015 and detained at Rusebeya police station, accused of murdering his wife Vestine Dusabimana.

The police spokesperson in Western Province, Superintendant Emmanuel Hitayezu told IGIHE that the suspect tore his jacket into strings which he used to make a rope with which he hanged himself.

“He hanged himself after accepting to have murdered his wife over promiscuity,” said Hitayezu. His body has been taken to Murunda hospital for autopsy.
