{{The Ministry of Youth and ICT (MYICT) in collaboration with Rwanda Development Board (RDB) officially launched a Document Tracking and Workflow Management System named “e-Mboni” in the Eastern Province to facilitate the entities to share documents electronically.}}
The training of the system brought together the employees of the Eastern Province, Districts’ Executive Secretaries, and other employees of the districts that receive correspondence of the Districts and their Authorities.
While opening the training, the Governor of the Eastern Province Uwamariya Odette said that the system will facilitate the collaboration between government institutions, and improve service delivery.
The Governor said that the system will help the institutions to reduce cost and speed up the service delivery.
“We will be using less time and less paper which saves on cost because for example in our Province, 16 employees of the eastern province use more that Frw5 Milion on papers and further more it is environmentally friendly.
“It will also help us to follow easily what is going on in the Province,” Governor said.
Francine Gatarayiha, RDB representative in the launch of e-Mboni in Eastern province said that the system is flexible and mobile; one can work wherever he is in order to serve clients without delay.
“The system enables secure and consistent storage of documents as well as increased information recovery efficiency through powerful and fast reach option,” Gatarayiha said.
Document Tracking and Workflow Management System tag named e-Mboni was launched in February.
During the launch the Minister of Youth and ICT Jean Philibert Nsengimana said;
“This system is meant to improve inter and intra governmental efficiencies ultimately geared to serving Rwandans in an efficient and effective manner.
The advantage of this system is that it is flexible and mobile; one can work wherever he or she is in order to serve clients without delay.”
E-Mboni aims at improving overall efficiency, accountability and transparency in government through the use of electronic documents and records lifecycle management.
