{{A special commission of incquiry has been instituted to investigate the circumstances that led to the death of a mother at Kirehe district hospital.}}
The Ministry of Health has requested concerned institutions and authorities to conduct further investigations to confirm the cause of death and take appropriate measures as provided for by the law.
Those institutions include the Rwanda Medical Council, the Rwanda Nursing and Midwifery Council and Security organs.
However, Kirehe hospital management has with immidiate effect suspended hospital staff that was on duty in the maternity ward on the fateful day.
“Kirehe hospital will have no tolerance for poor customer care and services to its clients,” reads a statement obtained by IGIHE.
The Police has also arrested a doctor and a nurse as suspects.
