Desmond Tutu has visited the Dalai Lama to discuss joy

The South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu is a close friend of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The fellow Nobel Peace Laureate recently arrived in Dharamshala, India to talk about joy with the Dalai Lama, reported Phayul.com April 18, 2015. Tutu will be visiting the Dalai Lama for five days at his home in Dharamshala where he has lived in exile for the past 55 years.

The Archbishop was met at the Gaggal Airport by the Dalai Lama who was accompanied by Sikyong Lobsang Sangay. Tutu commented that he is really so thrilled to be with his dear close friend His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Tutu has told reporters he has visited to simply sit together with the Dalai Lama and enjoy their friendship while discussing joy

The two well known advocates of peace and non-violence will be collaborating on a book which is about joy. Tutu has said that even though things and people have tried to keep the two friends apart, the love that they share for each other and the goodness of the universe of god has ensured that they would meet.

The Tibet Sun reports Tutu has reached the Dalai Lama’s abode to meet with his long-time friend. The South African anti-apartheid leader will be attending a series of functions which have been organized by the Central Tibetan Administration in his honor. This is Tutu’s second visit to Dharamshala since 2012. He last visited after the Dalai Lama was denied a visa by the government of South Africa to visit Tutu for his 80th birthday. These two spiritual brothers offer some hope for more aggressive searches for peace in our tragically violent world
