The Ombudsman, Aloysia Cyanzayire has told the senatorial commission of social affairs that many people are likely to get negatively affected by theft exercised on phones, and cases of bribery, if no preventive measures are taken.
Aloysie said that the malpractice of bribery through mobiles phones has become so rampant and that some bribe their way into heading big institutions n the country.
“Bribery is becoming more rampant. We have even identified people who cheated to be employees in the ombudsman’s and judicial offices. Some of them call people promising to have their court cases resolved if they send money via mobile money,” said Aloysia Cyanzayire.
She noted that nowadays the ombudsman’s office has identified camouflaging as representatives of government institutions and can offer jobs.
