The Lepanto Institute has reported evidence that Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the overseas aid agency of the US bishops’ conference, provided support for a sex-education program that encouraged contraception and masturbation, and endorsed the work of Planned Parenthood.
According to a report from the Lepanto Institute, CRS worked to implement a sex-education program entitled My Changing Body with young people in Rwanda. The program, developed by Georgetown University’s Institute for Reproductive Health, is designed for adolescents. It provides ample evidence about contraceptive use—referring students to Planned Parenthood for further information—and encourages acceptance of masturbation.
The Lepanto Institute was founded to investigate links between Catholic organizations and groups that promote policies incompatible with the teachings of the Church.
