Craftsmen skills honed

{A total of 30 craftsmen from various districts of the Rwanda including Rubavu, Rusizi, Karongi, Bugesera, Ruhango and Nyabihu have expressed gratitude over acquainted professional skills which they say will be helpful in contributing to their professional enhancement. }

They revealed this after completing a two-week training from IPRC South which will be followed by another edition that will see 30 crafts persons getting trained.

IPRC South teaches various crafts including building and construction skills, mechanics, electronics, modern farming and food science and technology among others.

Talking to IGIHE, crafts persons who have been undergoing trainings at IPRC South said that they have acquired professional skills that will foster their performance.

“I have acquired skills that will enhance my performance. I was once denied a job opportunity of making furniture for a bank because I had limited skills. I have now gained skills and confidence to do any crafting job,” said Daniel Dushimimana.

The IPRC South Principal, Dr. Baranabe Twabagira, said that such trainings will attract Rwandans to consume local products since they will be of good quality.
“We have a program of supporting Rwandans to make quality products that can compete on local and international markets,” he said.

Beneficiaries of trainings from IPRC South have been requested to assist their peers in various crafts centers where they operate to realize quality products in the country.
