CP Munyambo commend peacekeepers’ discipline

{The Police Commissioner of the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS), Commissioner of Police (CP) Bruce Munyambo has hailed police peacekeepers for exhibiting high level of discipline.}

CP Munyambo made the remarks while meeting with officers serving under Formed Police Unit (FPU), UN Police (UNPOL) and community leaders in Bor, the capital of Jonglei.

He commended police peacekeepers for their commitment towards making South Sudan a safer nation and encouraged them to work hand-in-hand with the communities and stakeholders.

“Discipline is key to ensuring that you deliver effectively and professionally. You must work as a team to achieve a lot in the shortest time,” CP Munyambo told the peacekeepers.

He appreciated highlighted pride, dignity and knowledge transfer as key characteristics that should describe a peacekeeper.

He further appreciated the officers’ efforts in forging a partnership with the leaders in Internally Displaced camps and other Community Leaders including, women and youths associations to identify and resolve issues related to Protection of Civilians (PoC) sites.

The visit was part of his tour which started in February in Malakal and Bentiu regions, to assess the implementation of mission mandate tasks, interaction with FPU, UNPOL, community leaders and other stakeholders.
