COVID-19: Rwanda records three more deaths, 198 new cases

Among others, 198 new cases have been found out of 4842 sample tests while 265 have recovered.

The statement released last night shows that some new cases were found in Kigali: 66, Nyamagabe: 20 and Bugesera: 19 among others while Nyanza, Kayonza, Ngoma, Rwamagana, Nyabihu and Nyamasheke recorded zero case.

Rwanda confirmed the first COVID-19 patient on 14th March 2020. Since then, 16 186 people have been tested positive out of 908 224 sample tests of whom 11 617 have recovered, 4356 are active cases while 213 have succumbed to the virus.

Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.

Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
