The deceased include four women and five men from Kigali city, Karongi, Huye, Muhanga and Rubavu districts.
The statement released last night shows that 934 have caught COVID-19 while 1015 recovered.
The majority of new cases were found in Kigali: 345, Musanze: 70, Bugesera: 50, Kamonyi: 49, Muhanga: 36, Huye: 35.
Rwanda confirmed the first Coronavirus case on 14th March 2020. Since then, 50 742 people have been tested positive of whom 35 582 recovered, 14 553 are active cases, 74 are critically ill while 607 have succumbed to the virus.
A total of 401,160 people have been vaccinated since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2021.
Coronavirus symptoms include coughing, flu, and difficulty in breathing. The virus is said to be transmitted through the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract.
Rwandans are urged to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, washing hands frequently using soaps and safe water, wearing face masks and respecting social distancing.
