{A body of a 25-year old young man, Iyamuremye Samuel whose regular job was luggage transportation in Gicumbi market has been found dead this morning in front of a building located behind Gicumbi district headquarters. }
Twizeyimana Jean Marie Vianney, a guard at the building where the young man’s corpse was found has told IGIHE that he found the body on ground in front of the building as he awoke.
“This house accommodates many street guys; however I have no information to confirm whether this one was among them. I sleep in the upper floor while these street guys come at night and sleep in the ground floor. As I went for bath in the morning, I saw him lying in front of the building and thought he may have got over-drunk.I approached him and saw ants circulating in his ears,” he said.
“I immediately called people who came and realized that he was dead. I don’t know the cause of his death because I heard no stampede in the night but we have found his clothes laid around his corpse,” he added.
The Northern Province police spokesperson, P Innocent Gasasira has confirmed the death of Iyamuremye and said that the investigation is underway.
The dead body has been taken to Byumba hospital for autopsy.
