{The Minister of Natural Resources, Dr Vincent Biruta, has requested the international community, gathered in Paris, France at the Global Summit on Climate Change to sign agreements and intensify efforts aimed at reducing global warming which is on rise, jeopardizing the progress of poor countries.}
Biruta noted that all countries need to move fast on the implementation of MoUs in various environmental protection programs.
He said that world population has a lot to complete to become resilient to climate change through linking development with environmental protection.
“As the World became resilient to other severe calamities by applying science and technology, the climate change should not defeat us,” he said.
Biruta asked rich countries to increase funds in renewable energies like solar energy among others to reduce air pollution.
During the meeting, Rwanda signed MoUs with international institutions on environment protection and among the ten African countries that committed to plant trees on 100,000 hectares. The government plans to plant trees on 30% of Rwandan land by 2017.
