Congolese Refugees in Rwanda to be Repatriated Soon

{{The DRC Senate President Léon Kengo Wa Dondo has assured Congolese refugees in Rwanda that very soon they will be repatriated to their country.}}

Kengo wa Dondo made the remarks Tuesday in Gicumbi district while visiting Gihembe refugee camp accompanied by 8 other Congolese senators and Rwandas Senate President Dr. Ntawukuriryayo Jean Damascene.

The Congolese Senate President told the refugees at Gihembe camp that there was nothing good in being a refugee. “ Very soon you will return home and work with fellow countrymen and women to build your country.”

“Nothing else needs to be done but only to have you repatriated. DRC is a country that operates under rule of law. You will return to your homes and property. Nobody will take away your property.”

Ntambara who spoke onbehalf of other refugees at the camp commended Kengo Wa Dondo’s promise saying, “We need to return home and our children need to grow and work for their country”.

Dr. Ntawukuriryayo noted that the visit by Congolese senators is a clear sign that the refugee challenge will soon be resolved and have them repatriated to DRC.
