Commonwealth youth visit Kigali genocide memorial

A delegation of 40 youth from African countries that are members of the Commonwealth organization yesterday visited Kigali Genocide Memorial where they received explanations on the history of 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.

The representative of the delegation Layne Robinson said that the visit is intended to enable them learn how to resist conflicts and building sustainable peace in their respective communities.

“Rwanda is the right place where people learn from its history. We are learning how to resolve conflicts, restore unity and build sustainable peace in societies,” he said.
He also said that learning from each other’s experience would help to build a peaceful world.

Ibambe Inkesha Vanessa, one of Rwandan youth that visited the memorial, said that they are going to share ideas in a way of building peace and seek together how to tackle conflicts.

Nandji Renu from Cameroun, said that acquired experience from Rwanda will help to resolve conflicts in their community.
