COMESA Elders Meet in Rwanda

The Minister of Trade and Industry Kanimba François, Thursday, received COMESSA Committee of elders who are in Rwanda for a two-day visit for consultation on number of issues ahead of the forthcoming meeting of COMESA Ministers of Foreigners Affairs.

COMESA Summit is scheduled for November 22, in Kampala, Uganda.

The delegation is led by Sir.James Mancham, former President of Seychelles including Ambassador Bethuel Kiplagat and Ambassador Simbi Veke Mubako.

The discussions focused on trade and regional integration.

HE.Sir.Mancham noted that COMESA’s mission is to facilitate the region’s sustained development through economic integration and promoting trade within its member states.

Minister Kanimba said that the Ministry of Trade and Industry is facilitating regional trade by removing barriers,promoting standards and fostering greater integration into regional and international trading networks.
