Col Willy Bagabe laid to rest

{Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), family and friends on 11 June 2016 bid farewell to late Col Willy Bagabe who passed away on 3 June 2016 in India, where he had been undergoing medical treatment. During the funeral ceremony, the RDF leadership was represented by the RDF Chief of Defence Staff, General Patrick Nyamvumba.}

In his funeral remarks, Gen Nyamvumba comforted all present for losing a very much loved husband, father, son, colleague or friend. The CDS further described late Col Bagabe as someone who selflessly contributed a lot to the liberation of his country, Rwanda. He also thanked all categories of persons who did their best in one way or the other to save Col Bagabe’s life during his illness. “As human beings all in our capacity was done to keep Col Bagabe alive, but unfortunately we have to acknowledge our shortfalls as humans when it comes to life and death matters”, Gen Nyamvumba said.

The funeral ceremony that had started at late Col Willy Bagabe’s home in Kicukiro, then proceeded at the Christian Life Assembly in Nyarutarama for the religious service, ended at Kanombe Military Cemetery where he was militarily laid to rest.
