Cogebanque has extended their sponsorship of a cycling tournament Tour du Rwanda for three years up to 2018 in an agreement signed mid this week during a ceremony of showing partners of Tour du Rwanda the routes to be used during the tour running from November 13th to 20th 2016.
Mr. Louis de Montfort Mujyambere, Cogebanque Business Development and Commercial Director expressed delightfulness for their involvement as the Main Sponsor from being Top Sponsor.
“Cogebanque is committed to supporting Rwanda cycling tour .We have increased the budget and shall give more technical advice to enhance the game. We are Rwanda’s bank supporting Rwandan activities and the country in general,” he said.
Ndayisenga Valens and Nsengimana Jean Bosco, Rwanda Cycling Cup contestants who won the competition in 2014 and 2015 respectively signed contracts to advertize for Cogebanque.
Ndayisenga Valens worked with Cogebanque to create awareness on Cogebanque’s technology dubbed MasterCard while Nsengimana Jean Bosco mobilized Rwandans to save and withdraw through Cogebanque agents across the country.
Cogebanque started offerings services in 1999 and gained fame when it emerged Rwanda’s second best performing bank in 2015.
Mujyambere said the bank is satisfied with its involvement in the nation’s development as benefits of sponsoring Tour du Rwanda reach entrepreneurs offering services throughout the tournament which increases their income.
The bank which has recently opened branches in Karongi and Nyamasheke says that the trajectory of the cycling tour from Karongi to Rusizi district will facilitate it to meet clients in those regions.
“The Rwanda cycling cup will pass by districts through which we have opened branches like Karongi where we will explain our services to clients,” said Mujyambere.
Cogebanque has sponsored Tour du Rwanda since 2012.It signed three years contract in supporting the tournament in 2014 and was extended yesterday to 2018.
