Cogebanque commits to increasing branches, decentralize services

{Cogebanque has committed to boosting the country’s development through decentralization of services to its clients and Rwandans in general.This follows existing engagement in supporting Miss Rwanda and Rwanda cycling competition 2016.}

Louis de Montfort Mujyambere, Cogebanque commercial director, says since the beginning of this year, the bank has opened branches in Karongi district of Western Province and others in Ruhango district from Southern Province in a bid to decentralize services to clients.

“We want to extend banking services to rural areas to enable more financial inclusion and eventual transformation of livelihoods and national development,” said Louis de Montfort.

The two newly opened branches come in addition to the new Kigali city branch at CHIC building opposite new taxi park.

Louis de Montfort said that they have commissioned Cogebanque agents where a client can deposit or withdraw money without trekking to the bank or ATM.

In 2015, Cogebanque launched technologies of MasterCard and E-banking and concentrated efforts in the use of Mobile banking in 2016.

“We are encouraging Cogebanque customers to embrace Mobile banking where a client can buy electricity and telephone talk time. We have put in much effort to bring services closer to customers,” said Louis de Montfort.

In 2016, Cogebanque increased the number of employees in loan delivery department to boost service delivery and tipped citizens on importance of bank savings.

Cogebanque has also sponsored Miss Rwanda 2016 as part of empowering the girl-child and Rwandan culture in general.
