China Strengthens ties With NUR

In the bid to strengthen ties with Rwanda, the Ambassador of China in Rwanda His Excellency Shu Zhan has visited the National University of Rwanda (NUR).

According to Prof. Manasse Mbonye, the vice Rector of academic affairs and the current acting Rector, noted that China and NUR have a long history of partnership.

He said China was a Key stakeholder in some projects that the university has undertaken.

Among the projects, there is Mushroom project which is being developed between the faculty of Agriculture at NUR and the Chinese Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.

Manasse accorded the partnership to the warm relationship between Rwanda and China.

Shu Zhan said that China is committed to cooperating with Africa in various sectors including Education.

Shu said he will continue to connect NUR with several Chinese higher learning institutions to collaborate in terms of research Exchanges, opportunities of scholarships and other sorts of cooperation.

He also announced that in regards to cultural exchange, the Chinese cultural troupe who is on a tour in Africa will come to perform at NUR on 29th January 2013.
