    The two soccer fans had strolled into Marete’s bar in Meru town, to watch the highly publicised match between the two teams, taunted as favourite league contenders of the season.

    Tension was high as the match kicked off, with Manchester United and Chelsea fans ganging up behind Liverpool against Arsenal.

    Trouble is said to have started after it became apparent that the Arsenal side was playing a losing game.

    The Arsenal fan is said to have been angered by the Liverpool fan, who was celebrating at every goof the Arsenal side suffered.

    Area police boss Tom Odero, said the assailant is still at large, adding that a manhunt has been launched to bring him to book.

    Mr Odero said locals had impounded a motorbike that the assailant was seen riding before the match, and taken it to Meru police station.

    Spanish Princess Questioned in Court

    {{Spain’s Princess Cristina ({pictured above})is being questioned in court in connection with a corruption scandal involving her husband’s business dealings.}}

    It is the first time in history that a member of Spain’s royal family has appeared in court as the subject of a criminal investigation.

    Her husband Inaki Urdangarin is alleged to have defrauded regional governments of millions of euros of public money.

    The princess and her husband deny any wrongdoing, and have not been charged.

    Spain’s royal household admits the case has damaged the reputation and credibility of Spain’s royals, and, partly because of this scandal, the popularity of King Juan Carlos has fallen in recent years.

    Pro-republican campaigners vowed to demonstrate near the court.

    Closed-door hearing

    Princess Cristina, 48, stepped from her car and walked into the court on the island of Mallorca without commenting to the waiting television crews.

    King Juan Carlos’s youngest daughter will have to answer dozens of questions from a judge in a closed-door hearing.

    The judge has named her as a fraud and money-laundering suspect.

  • Balotelli Finally Acknowledges Paternity

    Balotelli Finally Acknowledges Paternity

    {{AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli finally acknowledged he was the father of his daughter Pia, two months after failing to attend a hearing in Italy aimed at establishing paternity.}}

    In a message on Twitter, Balotelli wrote: “Finally the TRUTH :-)??…PIA … Sweet child of mine !!! your Dad.”

    Italy striker Balotelli is no longer the partner of former on-and-off girlfriend and showgirl Raffaella Fico, who in July 2012 announced she was pregnant with his child.

    Pia was born in December 2012 and Fico later accused Balotelli of distancing himself from his newborn baby daughter.

    The 23-year-old player retorted several weeks later by threatening Fico with legal action if she continued making “further irresponsible comments”.

    The couple had waged a bitter war of words in the Italian media since then, but Balotelli’s announcement is believed to have followed the completion of a DNA test.

    Balotelli, however, posted a follow-up message which appeared to be aimed at Fico and said: “What was the point of all that wasted time telling lies about me on television and in the newspaper? And what did it achieve?

  • Who is Captain Pascal Simbikangwa?

    Who is Captain Pascal Simbikangwa?

    {{Understanding Captain Pascal Simbikangwa}}

    Capt. Simbikangwa was born in the northwestern Rwandan town of Rambura in 1959 and he is believed to be a relative of former Rwandan president Juvénal Habyarimana, with whom France had close ties.

    In 1986 he was involved in a car accident which resulted in his current disability. He still moves in a wheel chair.

    Capt. Simbikangwa was a key intelligence officer who served in Habyarimana’s regime monitoring the activities of Tutsi community in the country.

    Capt.Simbikangwa retained his anti-Tutsi sentiments which were evident from his chilling activities as a spy chief.

    Following an attack on Rwanda by the Rwanda Patriotic Army rebels, Capt. Simbikangwa tortured several Tutsi’s most of whom he accused of working for the intelligence services of the RPF (Rwandan Patriotic Front).

    Capt. Simbikangwa was one of the brains behind the Radio Mille Collines, which was primarily used to broadcast messages against Tutsi and encourage their slaughter.

    As soon as the Hutu regime was ousted in 1994 by the Tutsi rebels, Capt.Simbikangwa fled the country with his family to the Democratic Republic of Congo before wading into Kenya and Cameroon.

    He is believed to have entered in the French territory of Mayotte in 2005 but was apprehended by authorities in 2008 for possession of fake documents to support his travel. Capt. Simbikangwa was initially charged for posessing illegal papers.

    French authorities were able to establish his true identity and it emerged that he was wanted by Interpol for “crimes against humanity, genocide and organised crime”.

    In April 2009, he was indicted for genocide and organised crime related to the 1994 killings. Capt. Simbikangwa was then transferred to the French detention centre of Saint-Denis on the island of Reunion.

    {{The Trial}}

    Capt. Simbikangwa’s formal trial which began on 4 February is expected to continue through March.

    Unusually for France, the trial – which is expected to last six to eight weeks – will be filmed, with recordings available once the case is concluded.

    Capt. Simbikangwa said little in court, apart from reading out a brief statement in which he acknowledged that he was a “captain in the Rwandan army, then in the intelligence services”.

  • North & South Korea Agree to Family Reunions

    North & South Korea Agree to Family Reunions

    {{North and South Korea have agreed to hold a reunion later this month for families separated by the 1950-53 Korean War.}}

    Officials from both sides meeting in the border truce village of Panmunjom, decided on Wednesday the reunion would be held on February 20-25 at the North’s Mount Kumgang resort, the South’s Unification Ministry said.

    The agreement marks a small sign of progress between the two rivals who, in recent years, have struggled to cooperate on even the most basic trust-building measures.

    But both sides have been here before.

    Similar talks between the North and South Korean Red Cross in August last year concluded with an agreement to hold a reunion the following month for several hundred divided family members.

    With the selection process completed and the chosen relatives preparing to gather at the North’s Mount Kumgang resort, Pyongyang cancelled the event just four days before its scheduled start, citing “hostility” from the South.

    There are widespread concerns that the families could end up being disappointed again this time around.

  • Nelson Mandela’s WILL Revealed

    Nelson Mandela’s WILL Revealed

    {Nelson Mandela’s casket}

    {{Nelson Mandela left his roughly R46-million estate to his wife Graca Machel, family members, staff, schools and the ANC, according to a summary of his will released on Monday.}}

    Two months after the death of the 95-year-old South African statesman, lawyers said wife Graca was likely to waive her right to half the estate, opting instead to receive four properties in Mozambique and other assets.

    Royalties from his books and other projects, as well as his homes in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Qunu and Mthatha were left to a family trust.

    The home in Houghton, Johannesburg where Mandela died on 5 December will be used by the family of his deceased son Makgatho.

    “It is my wish that it should also serve as a place of gathering of the Mandela family in order to maintain its unity long after my death,” the former statesman wrote.

    Mandela’s children each received $300 000 in loans during his lifetime and will have that debt scrapped if it has not been repaid.

    The will was first written in 2004 and last amended in 2008.

    Even before his death, Mandela’s children and grandchildren frequently clashed over who leads the family and who should benefit from his investments.

    Several have already put the Mandela brand behind commercial projects including wine, clothing, artwork, a social network and a reality television show.

    Executor Dikgang Moseneke, the deputy head of South Africa’s Constitutional Court, said the reading of the will to the family had been “charged with emotion” but no one had yet contested it.

    Mandela’s other bequeathments reflected a life in politics and championing education.

    Mandela gave around $4500 each to members of staff, including long-time personal aide Zelda la Grange.

    The will also provided around $9000 each for Wits and Fort Hare universities, and the same amount to three other schools.

    The African National Congress, which Mandela led to victory in the first democratic elections in 1994, could receive between 10 and 30 percent of his royalties.

    The cash will be used specifically to promote “policies and principles of reconciliation amongst the people of South Africa.”

    Family feud

    It is unclear if the will can prevent family battles over who controls the Mandela name, which have seen family remains exhumed and reinterred and exhumed and reinterred again.

    Eldest daughter Makaziwe reportedly had the locks changed on Mandela’s rural home after his death to exclude his eldest grandson Mandla, the head of Mandela’s clan.

    Makaziwe and Mandla both lay claim to lead the family following the death of the anti-apartheid hero in December.

    Makaziwe is backed by his second wife Winnie and Mandla has the support for the royal family of his tribe.

    Three executors will now be tasked with winding up the estate and carrying out Mandela’s wishes.

    They are George Bizos, who represented Mandela at the trial that jailed him for 27 years; Moseneke, the deputy head of the country’s Constitutional Court who spent years with the icon imprisoned on Robben Island; and Themba Sangoni the head judge in Mandela’s birth province the Eastern Cape

    Mandela became South Africa’s first black president after the first all-race elections in 1994 and his politics of forgiveness and reconciliation made him a global peace icon.

    He died 5 December and was buried 10 days later in his rural boyhood home of Qunu.

  • French magazine reveals Hollande ‘affair’ with actress

    French magazine reveals Hollande ‘affair’ with actress

    {French magazine Closer on Friday said President Francois Hollande was having an affair with actress Julie Gayet, promising to back its claim with photographs after months of swirling rumours.}

    The weekly tabloid’s website said its Friday print edition would feature seven pages of revelations and pictures on the 59-year-old president’s alleged relationship with Gayet.

    Closer, echoing reports published on various websites in recent days, said Hollande routinely drives through Paris on his scooter to spend the night with his 41-year-old mistress.

    “Around New Year’s Day, a helmeted head of state joined the actress at her apartment, where he has got into the habit of spending the night,” Closer wrote on the website, which carries a blurred picture of the cover that appears to show Hollande.

    The French presidency did not immediately respond to AFP’s request for a comment.

    Respected news weekly L’Express had last month reported that the presidential palace’s security services were increasingly concerned by Hollande’s frequent “escapades”.

    Closer said the pictures raise security concerns by showing that the head of state is accompanied by only one bodyguard when he treks halfway across Paris to Gayet’s flat.

    The bodyguard “even brings the croissants”, Closer said.

    Hollande lives with his partner Valerie Trierweiler, a journalist for whom he left fellow Socialist politician Segolene Royal, the mother of his four children.

    Gayet, who appeared in one of Hollande’s 2012 election commercials, filed a complaint in March over rumours of the affair which she said were a breach of privacy.

    Gayet is an established television and cinema character actress who has appeared in more than 50 films. She is the mother of two children.

    Closer’s revelations set social media alight, with several politicians speculating that pressure would mount on Hollande to officially comment.

    If confirmed, Hollande’s relationship with Gayet would perpetuate a long French tradition of philandering presidents and senior politicians.

    Jacques Chirac is believed to have had many extra-marital conquests, as was his predecessor Francois Mitterrand, who even had a daughter born to a mistress.

    Valery Giscard d’Estaing was also described as an incorrigible womaniser. He even hinted in a recent book at an affair with Princess Diana.

    The French are known for being tolerant of their leader’s gallivanting, which has often proved to have little or no negative impact on popularity ratings.

    He said that he helps patients without any people to help them. Akimana baths them, shaving them, and buy medicines, soaps, tooth paste as well as giving them clothing among other services.

    The act of caring for the needy patients started when he was still in Burundi, where he developed dysentery with 30 other patients.

    Akimana recovered while the 30 others died, thus he told all Might that he will be helping others who are suffering, as well as the needy.

    Ebe says that he has spent 19 years doing this activity, caring for the patients who are under intensive care, others shunned by all the people, as well as not waiting to be in touch with those who are terribly ill, this gives him, as he says, an extraordinary power which enables him to fulfill this rare spiritual calling, which in turn enables him to do this services.

    Ebe says that he uses gloves, because of some infectious diseases, and he also puts on some device that covers his nose to not be contaminated, as well as putting on on clothes that protects him from dust, but says that “all these cannot protect me without God.”

    We wanted to know whether there are some people who help him in this precious cause and told us that the first person who encourages him is the Director of CHUK, Dr Theobald Hategekimana.

    He said that Dr Hategekimana is a very good person with an exceptional humility who cares for the patients wholeheartedly.

    Ebe thanks him for the way he received him when he was approaching him for the first time, because he gave an advice in accordance to the methods he would be applying, while caring for the sick.

    Another person who helps him is Pastor Gatabazi from the Assembly of God Church.

    Until now, Ebe has a long list of generous people who are doing humanitarian acts including religious organizations, private institutions, individuals and other business persons.

    He expresses thanks to Radio Amazing Grace, Club Aflio, Restaurant Chez John, Munga Muhoza, Garage ATECAR, Leandre, “Restaurant Papyrus”, Dr Laurent Lusungu, Mama Cedrick, Charlotte, Mama Anita, Dr Philippe Mutwa, Olivier Ngabire, Belise Akimana, Fausti Murcrash, Munyanshongore Alexander, Asimango Bertin, Claire Ngabo, Maman Nema, Artist Dr.Claude and his wife Iris, Mimi Kenedy, Jules Munyampeta, Aime Uwimana, Mimi Raymond, Patrick Ntakirutimana, Kibada, Jamila, Chadia, Ephrasie Mukamunana, JMV Icyimpaye, Claudine &Anita Kivuye, Richard Kanamugire Igor, Theo Calaos, the ones who are mentioned bellow donate money as well as materials that utilized to cater for the needy patients.

    He is calling up on Rwandans to be with loving spirits as well as helping the patients, that is the real love, and he thanks all those who are selfless in helping patients, God will reward their works.
