Car Knocks down Street Light Pole

Police has impounded a car after it knocked down a street light pole .

The incident occurred at Kanogo, Engen petrol station at Sopetrade. The car was coming from Kigali city to Remera on Tuesday 2nd October 2012.

The driver of the car Murenzi Marcel didn’t sustain any injuries. Witnesses say the accident could have been caused by the slippery road due to the rain.

Other witnesses say the driver had been overspeeding which caused the car to lose control on the slippery road thus knocking down the street lamp.

IGIHE arrived at the scene but the driver ,Murenzi, couldn’t speak.
The street lamp costs about Frw2.5million which will be paid by the driver subject to the city laws.
