
Ambassador Claver Gatete has been appointed the new minister of Finance and Economic Planning replacing John Rwangombwa who has also been sent to head the Central Bank of Rwanda.
The new changes were announced in a reshuffle by President Paul Kagame on Monday where three new Ministers of State portfolios have also been created.
The new officials have been swon in today (Tuesday) at the Parliament.
Prof. Silas Lwakabamba has been appointed as new Minister of Infrastructure. He was formerly at the helm of the National University of Rwanda.
Another new face is Oda Gasinzigwa appointed as Minister of Family and Gender Promotion in the Office of the Prime Minister.
The ministry of Refugees and Disaster Management will also be headed by Séraphine Mukantabana replacing Gen. Marcel Gatsinzi.
She has been serving as the Chief Gender Monitor.
Dr Anita Asiimwe as Health State minister in-charge of Public Health and Primary Healthcare.
Evode Imena is now the Minister of State in the Ministry of Natural Resources in-charge of Mining.
Albert Nsengiyumva former Infrastructure minister has been switched to state minister of Education (Technical and Vocational Education and Training).
