Rwanda Education Board (REB) in charge of the Bursaries has reported that about Frw5.3Billion has been refunded paid by students who got loans since 1980 todate.
This was revealed by Mugisha Fred in charge bursary loans at REB during a Press conference.
He said REB is faced with a challenge of handling some people do not want to pay back bursary loans.
The REB official also noted that it’s a challenge to know the place where they are employed to facilitate money transactions.
Each year more than 5000 students in higher learning institutions receive bursary loans.
