{Bugesera district has got a new acting executive secretary after one year of transitional period following the dismissal of the former for alleged misappropriation of public funds. }

The extra ordinary meeting of Bugesera district council held last week, confirmed Elie Hakizimana to run the office of the District Executive Secretary during the transitional period before elections of District Advisory Council and Management Committee.

Talking about the situation of the district to Rwanda Broadcasting Agency, Kabera Pierre Claver, the Advisory Committee president said; “The district has had some administrative challenges that are gradually being addressed. Some local leaders suspected of getting involved in impropriety have been suspended and others imprisoned pending further investigations.”

He further said that working without an executive secretary hindered the delivery of some services and therefore decided to get one to perform the duties in an acting capacity to temporarily fill the gap.

The new elected executive secretary comes at a time when only two weeks are left to elect new advisory council and management board.

Elie Hakizimana, the acting executive secretary, has been working with Office of the Auditor General.
